The whole project as a whole was very exciting to me as it allowed me to explore my specialism which is always fun! I believe that the final postcards were very successful as they portray exactly what I planned.

There was only a couple of things that didn’t really work- this was because I planned very carefully what I wanted and how I wanted to do it. The skill of planning my photoshoots has been developed dramatically during this project as I never used to plan in much detail before but now I see the benefits of it! When I was completing the photoshoot there were some things that didn’t work- like the positioning of the flowers or the type of flowers used. However, because I had planned I had bought a few different types of flowers to experiment and see which ones work best for what I wanted.

I adapted my postcards to make them digital- so you could see the back and the front like a physical postcard (I did this in gif format). This wasn’t the plan but the postcards have a whole new meaning now that they are digital - they further highlight how lockdown has affected things, like giving flowers and postcards. I am now giving people digital flower postcards. I did find it interesting to experiment through the digital and the experiments were successful.

I could take this project further by changing a few details of the story. For example, would the atmosphere be the same if the postcard was aimed at strangers instead of family? Or even friends? Would I use the same flowers in the same space or different? There are many different ways this project could go further and It would be interesting to see how far it could go if I follow the “what if’s”.
