When you think of 2020 what's the first thing that comes into your head?
For me it's Coronavirus and the lockdown which started in March. So when I was asked to make a Photomontage on 2020 I knew where I was going to start.
I began to collect images from google on what I relate to the pandemic- masks, hand sanitiser, self isolation, social distancing, zoom calls, tiktok (as that's all I used in lockdown) and lastly, Boris Johnson- of course.
Once I had collected these images used Photoshop to delete the background of the images so they can easily be moved around a blend into one image. I didn't really know how I was going to position the images together so I created a black background and just started to play around with them.
In the end I came up with an idea to put everything in the mask- like putting everything in a bag. I really like that idea as I thought that it would be very successful.
Which in my opinion is quite successful as it represents my 2020 accurately, it also has quite a simple composition which contrasts the objects in the image- 2020 has not been simple. It makes you think about what 2020 would of been like if it was just a normal year.
I found this task really fun to complete as it has been a while since I have properly played around with photoshop- I almost forgot how fun it can be!
