Text and Gifs!

Text on images, quite fun. Who would of thought!

I have never, or even thought about, using text of images. However, now that I have done it, it makes so much sense! It just makes the images just that little bit more interesting and unique.

I had fun experimenting with this idea! I will definitely use this again in the future. I am also going to add the "Endless fields" and "PINK" images to my invisible city as I based them of the idea of my city.

Today, we also created gifs. These are the two I created on Photoshop:

I think these gifs (or jifs) could have been very successful- however there are some improvements which only now in hindsight I can see.

For example the movements are quite jumpy sometimes- which I didn't really noticed when making them. This could be easily resolved by ensuring that the background of the first layer matches/lines up with the other layers. However, this is mostly for the flower gif!

The jumpiness and choppy works for the first one as it kind looks like a POV video of someone running down the corridor to the city.

Another issue with these gifs is the colours! For some reason my laptop would only save the gifs when they only had 64 colours. This meant that some of the colours I used- for example the dark pink smaller flowers and the text which was supposed to be a dull red- did not appear and turned brownish. This was annoying but there was nothing I could do about it so I have learnt to like them!

I do enjoy the gif making process- it is quite fun but also strangely relaxing! I will continue to use gifs in my future work- whether that is to document the process or display a series of images.
